Green Roofs & Hands-on Workshop

Learn about the many benefits of green roof installations, as well as the possible issues. Learn about the 2 major types, recent positive advances, materials used and the various plant choices recommended. Photos of local examples and a sample will be available. Water Wisdom in the Garden

There are many ways that a land steward can reduce water use in the garden - by improving tilth, by using low tech water collection techniques, by mulching with appropriate materials, and by observing and using a plant's own life cycles. Robin Wheeler will give details on how to incorporate these simple, zero cost techniques.

Your Watershed: From Source to Tap

Earth Hour 2010

Take a stand for the earth (and your garden!!). Pledge to participate at Earth Hour Canada. All you have to do is turn your lights off for one hour!
What will you be doing when the lights go down on the Sunshine Coast? The Royal Astronomical Society will be partnering with the District of Sechelt for a Free Community Celebration 7:30 to 9:30 p.m. at Municipal Square (outside Sechelt Library).
