Second Annual Sunshine Coast Mushroom Fest, Madeira Park
Celebrate the weird, wonderful and tasty mushrooms that grow in such abundance around us!

The second annual Sunshine Coast Mushroom Fest will be bigger and better than the first, with display tables, cooking demonstrations, presentations and more. . .

Attend the festival during the day, then dine at one of the many local restaurants featuring mushrooms specialties. Return to the Pender Harbour Community Hall in the evening to hear our guest lecturer, Daniel Winkler, renowned mycologist and environmental consultant. Mr. Winkler’s presentation, “Flavorful, Fancy and Foul Fungi from Far Flung Places around the World,” is sure to delight and inform.

Mr. Winkler will also guide a limited-registration foray on Sunday, October 17. Here’s a chance to learn more about mushrooms from a true expert. Then adjourn to the Restaurant at Painted Boat, where the chef will cook the edible mushrooms we’ve collected; experience a mushroom tasting while admiring the day’s treasures.
