

Volunteers are the heart of the Garden. Volunteering is rewarding, fun and an opportunity to make new friends and learn new skills. We strive to make the opportunities varied and to offer something for almost everyone. You are invited to join us in producing our popular events and in achieving our ultimate goal in creating a botanical garden on the Sunshine Coast.
The following is a list of potential volunteer jobs we expect will be available:
- Work party volunteers - general maintenance, land clearing, veggie garden, plant sale, and more
- Fundraisers – committee members, grant writing, research, etc
- Marketing/Outreach – advertising, poster distribution, ticket distribution
- Newsletter – contributions (writing), research, editing, production, distribution
- Events – Instructors/speakers, audio/visual technical, arranging coffee, etc, decorating, general helpers, bartenders, committee members, etc
- Food – baking, food preparation, etc
- Photography
- Telephoning – telephone tree callers, contacting volunteers, contacting members without email, etc
- Admin support – advanced computer skills, ticket/poster production, meeting minutes, data entry, etc
- Docents – require vetting of qualifications
- Board members
We also foresee the need for the following:
- Musicians or entertainers for some events
- Birders to help guide tours of our feathered friends
- Children’s activity volunteers during plant sale & during work parties to include kids in garden games and crafts
- Information Ambassadors (for mall sitting and various public events)
- Someone to organize our presence and man a table at local festivals
- B&B and tourism partners who can help promote the Garden as a destination
